The Suffolk Regiment Archive

The Regimental Archive is looked after by our Archivist and volunteers.

Regimental Archives (by appointment only) are located at:
  • The Suffolk and Cambridgeshire Regiments' Museum

The documents and photographs are held by the Regimental Museum and access is via the Archivist who can be contacted as above or by using the contact form below.

There is a database available which lists the officers and men on every photograph in which individuals are named; it currently contains over 15,000 entries.

Men who had served in the Great War and re-enlisted are included in the first three volumes of ‘Army Book 358’ (A16/52/1-3) 1920-1959 (Whole regiment, followed by individual battalions)
Registers of men joining the regiment (‘Army Book 358’), 1920-1949 Discharge books (annual volumes), 1921-1959 (A16/51/1-37)
Prisoners of War 1939-1945 War: Japan
War Diaries 1914-1918 War
Over 22,000 Photographs

Receive Quote

The Archivist will email you with what she has found with price for the research if you wish to continue.
Step 3

Confirm & Payment

If you agree to the fee you should reply to the quote email and the Archivist will take a card payment over the phone or provide you with bank details to pay by BACS.

Step 4

Receive Research

Note payment must be received before any research is provided.
